On|Off announces collaborative fashion film with Tuuli in association with W London Leicester Square
February 18th will see On|Off launch a unique collaboration with Tuuli hosted at London’s newest hotel addition W London Leicester Square. The fashion film will be exploring the concepts and inspiration behind each On|Off designer’s collection and how the film enhances the relationship between both the director and designers. On|Off will hold a star studded showcase to launch the work alongside an installation of the garments featured.
On|Off will be collaborating with Tuuli (in partnership with Scott Clark and Rankin) on the production and direction of the short fashion film, Switch|On, which will be premiered during London Fashion Week at W London Hotel.
On|Off have carefully selected top designers from this seasons showcase to take part in the project, including Bronwen Marshall, Hasan Hejazi, Charlie Le Mindu, Lee Lapthorne, Jayne Pierson and Falguni & Shane Peacock. Their pieces will have presence both in the film and displayed as a static exhibition within W London Leicester Square. The theme running throughout the film is to explore the textures and shapes of the garments to translate the mood of a new season. Textures and design cue's from around the hotel feature as backgrounds to the film and subtly tell the design story of W London highlighting a quirky take on formal to informal and day into night.
The film will be styled and art directed by creative duo Tuuli, known for both her modeling and acting, and Scott Clark, contributing editor at Dazed and Confused. Over the past two years they have combined their creative characters and have worked on a number of editorial and film projects, whereby they continue to deliver extraordinary results. The film will also be produced by photographer, publisher, and film director Rankin. Tuuli said of the partnership, "I've always been a massive fan of On|Off and the designers they work with, so I'm really excited about this collaboration. The W hotel is such a cool brand and it's great to work with them on this project."
Lee Lapthorne, Director and founder of On|Off said, "I think it's a perfect collaboration on all accounts – W Hotel London, Tuuli and On|Off are all key leaders in their fields. I approached Tuuli to support On|Off as she is an inspirational woman and on brand with our approach to pushing boundaries. After brainstorming, her idea of a fashion film proved my initial thoughts on her creative talent. W London is not only known for its forward thinking but its continued support of the fashion industry and we are privileged to be working with them."
Kevin Rockey, General Manager W London Leicester Square states "Fashion & Film are two key passions for W Hotels globally and we have already worked with Tuuli who appeared in our short Away We Stay. We look forward to seeing how On|Off push boundaries with this exciting collaboration."
